Asian Elephant
As the largest land mammal in Asia, they live in herds with complex social structures led by a matriarch. Elephants act as "ecosystem engineers," dispersing seeds and clearing paths through the forest for many other species.
Pangolin
As the only scaly mammals in the world, they are frequently poached for their scales. They play a vital role in the ecosystem by controlling insect populations.
Owston's Civet
A small, rare carnivorous animal in the wild. They have a distinctive coat with stripes that provide camouflage in the forest.
Otter
Otters are playful and intelligent mammals, well adapted to life in the water. Their presence is an important indicator of healthy freshwater ecosystems.
Delacour's Langur
Delacour's langur is one of the world's rarest primates and is found only in northern Vietnam.
Tonkin Snub-nosed Monkey
One of the world's rarest primates and is found only in northern Vietnam. It is easily recognized by its upturned nose and striking black-and-white fur.

How does SVW use modern technology to understand human-elephant conflict?
In Dong Nai, there is currently a population of over 20 Asian elephants, residing primarily between Cat Tien National Park and the Dong Nai Culture and Nature Reserve. Buffer zone communities and the elephant population are facing conflicts and economic and property damage caused by elephant incursions, which are driven by habitat loss and the increasing overlap between elephant and human spaces.
