RESCUE, REHABILITATION, RELEASE
OF WILDLIFE
Wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and release are at the heart of Save Vietnam's Wildlife's mission, giving a second chance to animals affected by illegal hunting, trafficking, or natural injuries. We follow science-based rescue and rehabilitation protocols to ensure every animal receives the most appropriate care and the best possible opportunity to recover and return to the wild.
Why is it necessary to rescue, rehabilitate, and release wildlife?

Every year in Vietnam, thousands of wild animals are confiscated from illegal trade, intended for consumption or transit to other countries.
Many of these animals do not find suitable rescue facilities or are released directly into the wild without health checks or quarantine, creating a risk of disease transmission.
Rescuing wildlife is not only the most direct way to protect individual animals, but it also advances conservation efforts and strengthens enforcement against the illegal hunting, trading, transporting, and possession of wildlife.
