JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Assist the veterinarian with all tasks related to daily veterinary operations and comprehensive health management for rescued wildlife and animals currently under care at the center.
• Prepare and distribute medication to the animal care team according to treatment plans;
• Assist the veterinarian during animal health checks, preparation for medical procedures, anesthesia monitoring, sample collection (blood, feces, skin, etc.), catheter placement, intubation, and other necessary veterinary procedures.
• Join the rapid response team for animal intake and rescue operations. Update the status of rescued animals and perform first aid as requested and directed by the veterinarian;
• Perform laboratory tests such as fecal analysis, cytology, hematology, and other diagnostic tests as required.
• Handle veterinary-related administrative tasks, including: reviewing and tracking animal medical records, inventorying and managing medical supplies and equipment, maintaining clinic operations, and ordering veterinary medications, consumables, and necessary equipment.
• Support animal care duties as needed, including daily tasks such as cleaning enclosures, preparing and distributing specialized diets, and strictly adhering to animal safety and welfare protocols.
• Assist with the care and hand-rearing of young animals.
• Provide translation support for professional documents, reports, and related texts between English and Vietnamese upon request.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Degree in Veterinary Medicine and a valid veterinary practice license in Vietnam;
• Knowledge of diagnosing, treating, and caring for animals, with skills in performing basic veterinary diagnostic tests;
• Knowledge of animal necropsy and essential pathological diagnosis;
• Understanding of wildlife welfare/conservation and wildlife pharmacology;
• Ability to use basic English in a professional setting;
• Proficiency in office software;
• Ability to work under high pressure for extended periods, with good physical stamina, mental resilience, and readiness for rescue missions and long-term travel;
• Willingness to work overtime, including on holidays and weekends;
• Experience working with wildlife is preferred.
