WORK LOCATION: Primary location in Hanoi – Save Vietnam's Wildlife, No. 37, Lane 64 Le Trong Tan, Phuong Liet Ward, Hanoi.
Field trips (rescue centers, national parks, project sites) as required by specific tasks and assignments.
REPORTING TO: Communications & Fundraising Coordinator.
START DATE: Immediate.
POSITION TYPE: On-site – Full-time permanent.
SALARY: Negotiable, based on experience and qualifications.
About the Center
Save Vietnam's Wildlife (SVW) is a leading non-profit organization in Vietnam dedicated to the recovery of threatened wildlife species to prevent extinction in the wild. Through a multidisciplinary approach that fosters innovation and community engagement, SVW implements various education and awareness-raising activities, in-situ and ex-situ conservation, policy advocacy, and communications at key national parks and nature reserves across the country.
The Communications Officer position is part of the SVW Communications & Fundraising (FUCO) team, working closely with colleagues in content, social media, and design to promote the organization's image and conservation mission.
Job Description
COMMUNICATIONS TASKS
- Social Media Management:
– Develop and execute content plans for social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads, etc.) in alignment with the Coordinator's direction.
– Write posts, upload images and videos, and engage with the community across social media channels.
– Monitor and report on the performance of social media channels.
– Stay updated on social media trends and propose new content ideas and formats.
- Content Production:
– Write and edit news and articles for the website and other SVW media publications.
– Produce and translate bilingual (Vietnamese – English) content for the website, social media, and publications for the community, partners, and donors.
– Update, publish, and manage content on the organization's website.
– Support the production of videos, podcasts, infographics, and other multimedia content formats.
– Create and distribute periodic newsletters (internal newsletters, donor newsletters) via email marketing platforms.
– Collect information, images, and materials from SVW's conservation programs and activities for communication purposes.
- Other Communication Activities:
– Assist in organizing communication events, workshops, and seminars related to conservation.
– Coordinate with other departments within SVW to gather information and implement internal communication activities.
– Assist in preparing communication materials for partners and the press.
– Respond to emails, messages, and phone calls from interested parties as required.
- Analysis and Reporting:
– Track, compile, and report on communication metrics (reach, engagement, etc.).
– Propose solutions to improve communication effectiveness.
MEDIA OPERATIONS
• Assist in drafting press releases and coordinate with media outlets to promote the organization's activities.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating and supporting film crews and television stations in producing reports, documentaries, and interviews both at the office and on-site.
• Organize, coordinate, and execute press conferences; collaborate with other departments to host media-related events.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop content and assist in the design of communication materials and publications.
• Participate in developing and supporting fundraising campaigns, events, and social enterprise activities (selling fundraising products) for SVW.
• Assist in monitoring, evaluating, and summarizing the results of communication campaigns.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor and the Center Director.
Job Requirements
Essential
• College or university degree.
• Proficiency in English (listening, speaking, reading, and writing).
• At least 1 year of experience in a communications role.
• Strong writing and content production skills; excellent communication and public speaking abilities.
• Strong teamwork, reporting, and time management skills.
• Responsible, positive mindset, and ability to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel for field work as required.
Preferred
• Relevant degree in journalism, communications, environmental studies, biology, or sustainable development.
• Proficiency in design tools (Canva, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere, CapCut), as well as photography and video production skills.
• Interest or experience in conservation, the environment, or the non-profit sector.
