JOB DESCRIPTION

1. SMART Management and Implementation

· Manage and implement the integrated SMART Mobile, SMART Desktop, SMART Connect, and SMART Planning applications for forest patrol and information gathering.

· Design patrol routes using SMART Planning, assign tasks appropriately, and monitor implementation.

· Inspect, review, process, and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and completeness of SMART data.

· Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual summary reports from the SMART system regarding patrols, monitoring, and communications.

2. Forest Patrol and Law Enforcement Strengthening

· Directly participate in 12–15 days of patrols per month in key areas to detect, prevent, and document activities that threaten forests and wildlife.

· Coordinate the development and implementation of patrol plans to combat poaching, trapping, and other violations.

· Collaborate with forest rangers and local authorities to manage crime scenes and monitor post-patrol developments.

3. Verification of violations

· Serve as the primary point of contact for coordinating with forest rangers, police, and relevant stakeholders to verify violations.

· Collect, verify, and synthesize information and evidence to support case investigations.

· Prepare thematic reports and provide progress updates to the Board of Directors of Save Vietnam's Wildlife and the leadership of the Du Gia Special-Use Forest Management Board.

4. Outreach and awareness raising

· Plan and implement outreach activities to drive behavioral change.

· Organize and oversee community outreach activities (at least 4 days per month).

· Monitor, evaluate, and report on the effectiveness of communication campaigns using SMART.

5. Administrative tasks, reporting, and data systems

· Manage all SMART data, maintain organized records, and perform regular system updates.

· Draft and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual activity reports to leadership and relevant stakeholders.

· Propose process improvements to enhance the efficiency of forest protection management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Law, Biology, Resource Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.

· IT Skills: Proficient in Word, Excel, and Internet usage; knowledge of GIS (QGIS, ArcGIS) is preferred; experience with SMART implementation is a plus.

· Soft Skills: Strong communication, team leadership, organizational, and effective decision-making skills.

· Professional traits: Honest, responsible, able to work under high pressure, and possess a systematic mindset.

· Priority: Experience in conservation or forest protection.
