In early August 2026, the Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Management Center at Cat Tien National Park received a pangolin from representatives of the Da Teh Commune People's Committee in Lam Dong Province. The 1.4 kg animal had been voluntarily surrendered by a local resident, providing a vital opportunity for it to receive proper care and rehabilitation.

During its first few days at the Center, adjusting to the new environment and diet was a crucial step in stabilizing the pangolin's health. As a species with a specialized diet, pangolins primarily feed on ants and termites. Consequently, our care staff actively search for and collect fresh ant eggs and nests to include in its daily meals, helping the animal gradually adapt to its new feeding regimen at the Center.

After a period of dedicated care and monitoring, the pangolin has now recovered well and is responding positively to its food. This is an encouraging sign in its rehabilitation process, especially since the initial days after arrival are always a critical period requiring close observation. Every suitable meal, every bit of weight gained, and every sign of vitality represents a small but significant step on this pangolin's journey to recovery.

The Wildlife Rescue, Conservation and Management Center at Cat Tien National Park is a key facility for the rescue, care, rehabilitation, and conservation of wildlife in the southern region. The Center receives, cares for, and rehabilitates rescued or surrendered wild animals while coordinating conservation efforts within the National Park.
